That is just amazing - what a feat of model building, or perhaps I should say engineering Now I can't wait to see it painted.

That is absolutely amazing! I appreciate you sharing the product of your talent. The ways that you solved the problems that were presented in order to make a working model speaks considerably about your engineering skills. Needless to say, I am among the many who are impressed by your modelling skills. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Elis-Hobby-Diecast/803248369690387?ref=hl

Thanks for the nice words! It is quite a milestone and I found myself repeatedly just staring at it, just taking in the result after about 6 years of work. I took it down again and I can start finishing the missing details. Plenty to do! Kerst http://forums.dhsdiecast.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=1096251

Paul R I wish I could come to this great show, but it is a logistical nightmare. I did it once, years ago, with my Krupp, but there was considerable damage as a result. I sent parts by mail and took the rest on the airplane, but had to check it in unfortunately. Security was no problem, which surprised me. kerst http://forums.dhsdiecast.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=1096251

Testing the LTM1800 with derrick. I rigged the crane this weekend and did the first testing. The object was a 22 Lbs chuck. Luckily nothing broke, but I was surprised at the amount of movement in the carrier and the outriggers. The video gives an impression. (Watch the dial at the foot outrigger) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tHOLoBGLoJU&list=UU5RYqPrhaONGMvSKesd5Gjg&index=2Here some pictures of the setup. Although I took care of a lot of details, there is still work left. Kerst http://forums.dhsdiecast.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=1096251

Fantastic work Kerst,
I've been watching your build post since you started it. Just great craftmanship.
It sooo rewarding when a project like this (excuse the pun) gets off the ground!!!!
The first time I go my LTR operational its a very happy momment, as long as nothing breaks!!!
What colour will you paint it?
Regards Trev.
LTR 1100 in 1:14 scale. Cranes and trucks. Any thing with a big engine & big tyres.......
Love'm all.

I did some final details, like the chains for lifting the boom to self-install it. I found some decent chain, classified as jewelry, but it works fine for this purpose. The cylinder doesn't work and that is no real problem. It limits the horizontal movement a bit. Next is the big job of painting the crane. I decided to do the Sarens livery and even there I have choices since they had various versions of the LTM1800 and the LG1550. Kerst http://forums.dhsdiecast.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=1096251

Kerst You have just built one of the finest customs here on the forums, and I like your choice to do the Sarens version! Blue & white would be nice Look forward to your continued thread on the painting process Kerst! Jeff
