Geez.. Did you cut all those gears and stuff to? Incrediable work ,bar none, numero uno.. Think you could slip in some pic's of the machines that make this unit be?

Summer is usually pretty slow with lots of distractions, but I did find some time to work on the LTM1800. I worked on the Derrick mast. This set http://www.flickr.com/photos/dickvandamme/sets/72157623977660719/with/4622268767/ shows the LTM1800 with Derrick mast. This is the butt being out together: These are the sides of the 14 m middle piece: and this is the setup for milling the chords: Kerst http://forums.dhsdiecast.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=1096251

Kerst,
That is a lot of bevel cuts for just the upper piece of the derrick boom. Are you using some type of jig to hold the pieces as you solder them together?

Getting there. All the soldering is done, just some cleanup and finishing off some details on the derrick mast. kerst http://forums.dhsdiecast.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=1096251

A month later! After the soldering of the derrick mast was done, I cleaned it all up and started on all the hardware, like sheaves, pendants, etc. that was quite a bit of work, not difficult, but fiddly. I made the pendants of 1/8” square steel bar with the ends brazed on. Most of the hardware is done and soon I will be able to put it together and try it out! I always get very excited when I see an update to this post Kerst! And it seems a new milestone will soon be reached when you can start putting it together. That I can't wait to see!
Looks amazing so far and is one of the best, long standing threads on this forum in my opinion!
