Wow Guy: You're bringing out the really cool stuff now. That "Butagaz" truck's trailer is wicked looking. Are all these recent pics of the rare trucks? They look great. Craig

Craig, The 1/43 "Butagaz" carrier is towed by an Unic Izoard ZU 120T tractor: the French truck manufacturer Unic became part of the FIAT organization in 1966, then was absorbed into the IVECO conglomerate in 1975: Even if real tractor and trailer used by SATAS in Oran (Algeria) should be slightly different (see picture above), Ixo, producing that model for a press company, simply fitted the "376 BH 92" licence plate on one of their existing models: the magic of modeling, I suppose! I hope this helps. Guy

Steve, The GBC 8KT was the military version of the GBC 8 6x6/2 "Gazelle" built by Berliet for the French Army and exported in large numbers (approx. 35000 units): these "Gazelle" units were fitted with a Charbonneaux (French stylist) simplified torpedo cab design ("flat-type" panels being easier to repair than original "round-type" ones). Quite a lot were upgraded by Renault some 30 years later into GBC 180s. Moreover, Berliet had a license agreement with the Austin-Western company to build wrecking hydraulic cranes to fit these models and their heavier GBU/TBU 15 units. - A GBC 8KT cargo truck: - A GBC 180 cargo truck: - A Berliet GBU 15 CLD ( Camion Lourd de Depannage or Heavy Wrecking Truck): I hope this helps. Kässbohrer car transporter semi-trailer, indicated by Siku as being in a 1/50 scale. Oversized for that scale, it perfectly fits one of Jean-Jacques' 1/43 Volvo tractor: Regards. Guy
