I decided to use this trailer to transport the boom. It is the counterweight trailer for the Krupp 180GMT and is scale 1/20, but the difference is hardly noticeable. I used some timber to raise the supports for the boom.  Kerst

That is absolutely a masterpiece Kerst!! Great display of craftsmanship  The boom on the trailer look good, are you going to build the tractor to pull it? Jeff

I started a little project for the LTM 1800. I anyway need a box for storing screws, pins, shackles, tools, etc. so I decided to do what the big boys do and use a 20' container. I am making it out of AL and although it looks like a simple project, it still needed some thinking and planning. But I thoroughly enjoy this little project.  Kerst

Excellent scratch building Kerst I've always wanted a bench arbor press, a really useful tool.

Kerst, Your model looks very nice, I thought you might like to know my company Rocky Mountain Crane Service purchased an LG1550/LTM1800 last December. The LG is finishing its first project in Ontario, I believe we will have another project in the Sarnia ON area beginning Febuary that will last 10 months. Its not to far from your location in NY. The LG is currently set up with 105 meter SL3H configuration.

In the past month I made a whole lot of accessories for the Liebherr LTM 1800, but they also work for my other cranes. I made two hook blocks, a single sheave one and a three sheave one. Beside that I made lots of slings and a spreader bar.      Kerst

Your effort in building this crane has to be unique. Would it be possible to provide some more pictures of the completed unit and possibly some videos of it in operation?

Bill hi Bill, Thanks for the kind words! I have been planning to make a proper video and I made a start, but I recognized that such needs expertise that I don't have yet. So I need to learn how to produce a decent video. I also need to find a place or table big enough to erect it with good light. At the moment it is sitting at the corner of my desk with about 4 feet till the ceiling. kerst

Happy New Year to everybody! During the Holidays I had some time to play with the LTM1800. I extended the desk in my room and that makes a perfect “yard” for the crane. Yesterday I did a test lift.
