Hello forum friends. I am doing a repaint of my Gescha D9G. I am out of what people call "old Cat yellow" paint. And my local Cat dealer tells me that color has been Discontinued! Yikes. So does anyone have an idea of how I can get a very close match? Many thanks.

I bought a can of Rust-oleum spray paint last year. It says it matches old Caterpillar yellow on the can. I got it from Specialty Farm Equipment. I never used it. You are welcome to it. PM me if you want. Craig

Hi Gregg,
that's a good thread. For European forum users: There is a Daimler Benz color tone called "Maisgelb" (corn yellow) that is said to be exactly the old Caterpillar Highway Yellow. There is no RAL equivalent, but comparing to my CCM models, the Revell 310 Lufthansa Yellow is pretty close. Under sunlight, my D9G rip dozer seems to have three or four slightly different yellow tones? I will use the Revell 310 on my land clearing models and we will see how it works.
Best regards,
Max

Gregg,
Not sure where in New York you are, but if you can find a Tractor Supply, they have a line of paint with CAT yellow that will match the D9.

Randy, Thanks so much! Yes, we have a Tractor Supply near by. Are you still collecting models? Gregg

Hi Gregg, I did a comparison a little while back of the various paints out there for the different generations of Cats that you may find useful here: http://forums.dhsdiecast.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=137823
