Update: I have finally edited all my videos and I uploaded them to the youtubes. See page 2 for more details.Finally, after a year, these are finished. I wanted a D11N in my collection, but I didn't feel the price for the Conrad models were worth the lack of detail, and CCM had yet to release theirs (too pricey for my budget anyway). So I resorted to converting 2 Norcot D11Rs into Ns. It was a heck of an undertaking because the Scots are so inaccurate. I'm posting a quick run through of the project, and for those who want the nitty gritty, I'll have videos up soon! First I needed to grind down the fuel tanks and cut out the hydraulic tank, then create brass replacements.  The cabs on the R were super inaccurate, so I decided to pay homage so my Southern California roots and throw SoCal OPOPS on the pusher, and then created a new fascia with opening doors for the U.   The next issue to address was the inaccurate hood and engine compartment. I ended up raising the hood and the grill 2mm.   Now to detail the side covers and replace the rails, add hose hoods, and more detailed pipes.   I also wanted movable ripper shanks, so I cut and milled the fixed ones out and made brass removable ones. I made the hydraulic pin puller for the U actually work by making it out of brass.   The U-Blade was also lacking in detail, so I drilled all of the gates out and detailed the cutting edge a bit.  Compared to OEM  Now for the frame for the cushion blade.  Months of labor past, now for the mock-ups   Looks good, lets paint!  Decals and assembly.   The reveal!      Thanks for looking, and I'll update the thread when the videos are ready, they are very detailed and are taking a while to edit.

Utterly excellent Those cab doors are a really nice feature.As for drilling the u-blade,I have wanted to do that on many blades.Hate seeing them 'solid'never thought it was actually possible.Outstanding.

Absurdly wonderful. Both are terrific but that pusher is intense. You should be quite proud of yourself. Those are showstoppers. The "U" blade is out of bounds! CAW

Your attention to detail in those operators stations, especially the screens on the dashboard are beyond compare. Outstanding work and I’m sure you believe it was well worth your time. Those I would assume are rare. Great job and look forward to the video.

Incredible craftsmanship shown here Dex. Always envy those that can do brass work like that. Man a pushcat that size would wreak havoc on scraper bottoms.

That's really cool. Brass-upgraded projects are also my favorites, but I could certainly not do any better than your work. I have no doubts it took several month to achieve, due to all the details your paid attention to: hydrau hoses, consoles, tank caps, ... Still, a worthy achievement. I would't be shy to put next to some of CCM. Hats off! Stephane
