Does anyone remember the breakdown of production between the Caterpillar PS 500 staggered step version and the straight step version by Conrad in the 1990's? I had thought the staggered step was more sought after, and thus, harder to find. Am I wrong? CAW

Craig according to the Collectors Guide of Conrad Scale Models, the staggered step version of the model was 2741.1 which is the first version of the Cat PS-500 tire roller. The vertical step is 2741.2 second version of the PS-500. I have heard over the years since I have been collecting (over 30 years) that the staggered step version is the model that is hard to acquire. Steve

Craig, they have 2 PS-500s on EBay right now for sale both with straight steps. While one of the sellers states in his description, rare and very seldom seen for sale. These are the only ones I have seen on sale with eBay. So the people that told me the staggered steps were the hard ones to find gave me the right information. Steve

Some useless info, they are actually based from a French made Albaret roller that CAT brought out.. I used to work on this thing in another life, one of x3 in Australia https://www.slatteryauctions.com.au/product/3496/905336/earthmoving-and-machinery-clearance/albaret-858-multi-wheel-roller
