Another example of use of the 10 metres semi-trailer. In order to be able to deliver in town centres on a 24-hour basis, the Dutch carrier S. Loos designed, with Mercedes-Benz and Heiwo assistance, a low emission unit (natural gas-powered engine), very agile and moving "silently" at night:    Mercedes-Benz Econic 1828 NGT 4x2/2 tractor and Heiwo Citytrailer 2-axle reefer semi-trailer equipped with a Dhollandia 2T hydraulic fold-away lift (Tekno models)  Regards. Guy very interesting models, you really have the transportation problems figured out over there. We just go over curbs and flatten signs over here. The Mercedes cab almost has the look of a commuter bus, which makes sense because they are used throughout the cities. Your team has to get a group photo of all your models together, it is probably not possible however unless you can rent a sports stadium. Great photos, great customizations and great collection.

The Mercedes-Benz Econic cab has a flat low floor designed to easy exits/entries of the driver and its assistants throughout a working day: that's why a lot of rubbish collecting trucks and delivery vehicles have adopted it here in Europe.

Guy thanks for the information, I was going to say garbage trucks looked similar but the first thing that hit me was how much they looked like the buses in the cities. As I said your side has the transportation situation figuered out (that sounds pretty good).

A Wacker-Neuson DW60 4x4 articulated mini-dumper (Siku model) and a Haulotte Multijob MJX 370 4x4/4 multi-tasks compact excavator (Joal model) are carried on the drawbar unit    Regards. Guy

Guy nice set up in the first picture, the loads look great. The fifth picture down with the two dump trailers, love the gray one is that a Renault tractor with one Jean-Francois’s scratch built dump trailers?

Steve Steve,  The bonneted truck at rear is a Renault pulling a Kaiser Karat 2-axle tipping semi-trailer, both being from MiniCams origin. Looking at the size of the hydraulic ram at front, the semi-trailer could be a Conrad one, towed by a MiniCams COE Renault. I hope it helps. Guy

In Germany, car garages are often prefabricated by specialists and carried/placed on site by very specific trucks, equipped with a lifting arm designed for that sole use:   Mercedes-Benz Actros 3244 MP3 8x4/4 garage carrier truck equipped with a Trautwein GT 280T hydraulic arm (modified Siku model), loaded with an OTT Type Corvus car garage of 11 tonnes (homemade). Initially, I planned to install the Siku Trautwein arm on a Conrad day-cabbed 8x4 but couldn't find any at that time, accepting the placement beam under its chassis between 1st and 2nd axles. I therefore upgraded the 1/50 Siku model (undersized wheels were replaced by Teknos, hydraulic rams were painted, support corners for the garage were widened to accept 3 metres wide garages, etc). The "metallic" garage sold with the model (which is generally built on site and not carried/placed that way) was changed to a homemade concrete prefabricated one:  The original Siku model:  Trautwein, German company which took-over the Claus design and licence, produces a lifting arm which only works on the same axis than the truck. Other competitors, among which Deuriger, have an arm that can turn 90 degrees to place the garage sideways. Guy as usual some new and interesting. First time I have ever seen this, and the links you added are great. Your prefab concrete garage looks much better than the one that came with the model. Is that prefab garage common on a new house being constructed or is it used for additions and remodeling?

In Germany, you can find these prefabricated garages, either close to new houses or added to upgraded existing ones. They even can be seen, grouped in rows, on the parking lot of some buildings. That's common stuff very popular over there.

 Trio of Scania P380 trucks produced in a 1/50 scale by Universal Hobbies, with from left to the right: - 8x4/4 carrier with Cifa SLX 9 concrete mixing drum, - 6x4/2 truck equipped with a Dalby XHM-20 hydraulic handling device and carrying a TAM mobile workshop container (homemade around a Bemo Models frame and a piece of Norscot Fruehauf box semi-trailer - work in progress), - 6x4/2 carrier equipped with a Dalby XHM3-20 hydraulic handling device, loaded with a Dalby mobile tipping unit.
