frusso nice work on the D4E, the metal tracks look great. I modeled mine after one in a sales brochure from 1978 that I have. I put a late 70s ROPs on it and it has no ripper or metal tracks. I’m just waiting for some styrene to come in to complete my air cleaner and then it should be finished. I would post pictures of it for you but I’ve been trying now for about 4 years and still can’t do it. Keep the pictures coming. I’m gonna start my D6 high tracks next, I have one with ROPs and one with cab. I had two 96’ D6 high tracks which had the tiller steering and forward and reverse controls all in one. I wanted to make those but the Conrad D6s are early models with two sticks for the steering so the layout for the controls is different on the ones I had for my company.

frusso I appreciate the offer, as soon as the styrene comes in I can finish off my D4, I can send you the pictures. Keep in mind that they not up to par with your customized models, but it was only my second one when it comes to operators stations. The problem now, is that I want to put controls on all my equipment that does not have them. It really is addictive. Hopefully the styrene will arrive and then I can send you pictures.

frusso one question for you, what is the diameter of your machine controls? I use 1/32 but I just got some music wire that is .025 and it bends very easy. The 1/32 wire I use now is aluminum and it bends nicely but it is not very strong, when attempting to put it into a tight drill hole it bends. With this wire I just got it should not do that. I got the music wire in both 1/32 and .025 so that way I can use the 1/32 on all the grab rails and controls will be .025 and I hope you will be able to see the difference.

frusso did you buy that in kit form, or did you have have to rework the whole model from a built one? Either way it came out really nice. Those models are hard to work with, at least for me I have a DM800 sitting in broken pieces in my cellar. After that I bought the completed trucks and all the frames are now touching the bases which they sit on.
