Anyone know what size hardware is used for bolting the luffing jib together?

It might be either 00-90 if it's NZG, if it's Conrad or TWH it could be either 0-80 or 1-72. Most likely it will be either the 00-90 or 0-80.
If you want a suggestion, use brass rod in either 00 or 0 size and thread the ends for a nut, that way the brass rod fits tighter than using threaded bolts.

No problem, if you need nuts and bolts the cheapest place to get them is here, if you want the rod you can either get an assortment at Micro Mark or you can get just the 00 or 0 at Hobby Linc, you would still need the nuts from micro fasteners though and may the threading dies too!!

A question for you Dain regarding bolt diameters and nut sizes. NZG uses 00-90 nuts and bolts for smaller cranes like the HS855. I can buy these nuts and bolts at Micro Fastners or Fastners Express. They work great and the nuts are small and fit the tools provided by NZG (standard 00-90 wrenches like you can get anywhere like Walters for example). I have also bought 0-80 and 1-72 nuts and bolts from these companies. However, the problem is that the nut sizes much larger (in relation to the bolt). I recently got a NZG LR 1600. It uses essentially he same size nut as the 00-90 nuts, but the bolt itself is a larger diameter (looks to be about the same diameter as my 0-80 bolts). I realize these numbers have to do with threading and not the rod diameter, but I can't work out how to get the bigger diameter bolts with smaller sized nuts that will fit the tools I have. I can't figure out exactly what NZG did, nor can I figure out where to buy smaller sized nuts for 0-80 bolts. Any thoughts?

The nuts supplied with the hardware for the NZG LR1600 have extremely thin wall thickness when you compare them to standard hardware. Not sure where to get them, but I have an idea; purchase the appropriate drill bit size as well as a tap for the 0-80 and 1-72 hardware, purchase 00-90 nuts, drill and tap them for the 0-80/00-90 bolts.

If you look in micro fasteners they actually have two different size nuts for the 0-80 bolts, one has a bigger diameter than the other. You would want the "small pattern" 0-80 nuts, the measure from flat side to flat side on these are 3/32 where the other standard pattern is 5/32. The little wrench you can get for 0-80 is set for the 3/32 size nuts.

I may try that Randy, but I typically have bad luck with micro taps and dies (meaning I break/damage and otherwise seem to go through a lot of them). I would rather buy the nuts if I can figure out a source. Best regards. Don

Hope this helps. Dain, It sure does help. If you don't mind, when you get a chance, can you email me the link to this specific nut on their page. I think I would like to skip the trial and error method of figuring this out this time. LOL I have been buying my nuts/bolts from fastener express lately as opposed to micro fasteners which is why I never noticed the different nut sizes for 0-80. If this is what NZG is using for the LR 1600 this will be a big money saver for me. 3/32. Who knew?  Thanks and best regards. Don
