Well to get the catwalk the way i wanted i had to drill out the catwalk look. There will be over 7000 hand drilled holes on the entite model.

The past 3 weeks on and off the massive bucket has been constructed    This bucket is all styrene except the teeth. I drew those up in cad and printed here in the shop. Dude this this is massive! Good work so far, I'm jealous. Did you use a mini mill for the holes in the catwalks?

Thanks first of , and yes its massive . All the holes were hand drilled with a small finger drill. The laser marked the holes and i drill them all out and it took FOREVER to do

Hello Over 7000 hand - drilled holes for the catwalk ?? You are crazy...  Was a aluminium perforated sheet not easier to make the catwalks ???? I love this scratch - model. I am working since november 2004 on my scratch - model of the Gotthard - tunneling machine in scale 1:50 ( some pics from it are here in the forum ) and I hope I will have completed it some day when I will arrive the totally length of nearly 9 meters........ I wish you a merry christmas and many successfully hours of work with this model in the coming year. Best regards from switzerland Manfred

Not a fan of BIG models in particular, but of scratch built project as yours. Some knows that I also like doing scratchbuilt projects, but I admit not having such level of talent you have. So its always interesting to see such commitment and craftmanship in the making of a model. Best of luck for that project, and for the contest. Stephane
