As some of you may know, I've been taking equipment photos for quite a while now, however, I recently decided to upgrade to a real camera and lens to see what I could do - up until now, it has been cell phone camera all the way Teeth

Mostly everyone was off-site early today to start the weekend, so I took advantage of the dying daylight on my way home and stopped at a larger demolition project I've been eyeballing for the last couple weeks from the highway and tested out the new camera.

Happy with what I got for a first run at it; took maybe fifteen photos before the action died down. Enjoyed being so close to the 450 Hitachi, we use the same metal recycler - really was a stone throw away. Not too bad for shooting through a chain link fence, I think .

Curious if anyone can identify the yellow excavator? I'm thinking it's an older 200 Komatsu, or somewhere along those lines. Hope you all enjoy!

And my personal favorite, even though it has the fence edges in it (adds a nice touch I thinkConfused )

Nice Shots, the yellow excavator looks like a Komatsu PC300LC-5, it was available in the early 90's. Those older Komatsu excavators make great demolition machines.

Largest mall project in the United States in the past ten years or so, a few miles from home. Beautiful day to practice with the camera some more.

Nice photos! I love the looks of the new 631K, I wonder if we will see it officially announced for Bauma.

Great pics, love the look of the new 631K, here's hoping for a DM model sometime soon. Do you have any info on the sideboards of the 631G, they look very interesting.

Unfortunately, I don't have any info on the sideboards seen on some of the scrapers. Wink

I myself noticed those today as well and wasn't entirely sure what they're for, besides bulking material possibly. I've seen larger scrapers with extensions for moving coal, limestone, sand, etc. which are somewhat similar. But as to the particular use of these ones, I can't say. Anxious

These machines have been on the same site for quite a while now, the dirt material you see in the photos is basically consistent throughout the site and the local area.

That would have to be the first single engine scraper I've ever seen with a hook and bail.

Since the scraper photos were so well received, I decided to stop by the project again since I was in the area.

The D10's had split to the NW and South ends of the project, as did the scrapers. Lots of pipe installation going on the NW end as well, about four Cat 336's going at it - can't get any good shots though since my street access ends. There were a couple 637G's on the site when they first started breaking ground last winter (2014), I think one might be floating around still.

Some other odd ball shots of equipment, locomotives, and a Eurocopter I hadn't seen in the area before. Hope you all enjoy!

Might be a while before any updates, leaving town tomorrow for four months or so in New Zealand; I'll be sure to hunt down some iron on my journey Smile

I found this yesterday as well. Field follow 637K, I'm hoping that they will get them both together, 631K and 637K soon.
