Happy Sunday Everyone!

I wanted to share with you all a custom model that I had built by Greg Ferguson. A CAT 955L Track Loader. 2016 will mark our company’s 56th year of being in business. The real Caterpillar 955L was in my opinion the most significant machine in our company's history which laid the foundation to what we are today. Greg as not only captured this machine in model form but also created a work of art!!! This is truly a beautiful model I am so pleased with how it turned out! I honestly could not be happier, in a word “Spectacular”. I just love it!!! Hopefully Greg will comment on this very difficult build, which he executed perfectly down to the very last detail.

Greg, Thank you!!!

Also he not only built one but rather two, one is for me and the other is for my Dad who ran the 955L for many years and to mark his 37th year with the company. I will let the pictures do the talking… Quiet though as it is his Christmas present, haha!!!

I’m terribly sorry of the poor picture quality, the inside lighting as well as the outside lighting has been terrible. The first picture is of our 1:1 machine!

Enjoy,
SS-

Hey Guys,

Here are some photos of the build while it was in progress. Started with a Joal 955L model and CCM 983B cab. From there lots of modifications took place. The undercarriage has been completely modified to match the 955L. The cab was also modified - new mounts etc. Then I also added a hydraulic cylinder to the ripper (the original Joal model did not have one). Lots of other details were added as well such as the levers in the cab, valve group, cab rest and cylinder brace.

How the project started:

Greg

Wow ! Greg bashing parts into a work of Art. No 3D printed BS here just good ole Scratch/Bashing. Thanks for sharing Shay.

Beautiful.
That is the machine I got my first serious hours on. It had an open ROPS and the rubber biscuits at the ROPS mounts were shot. That dang thing banged and clanged like nothing I have ran since.

I saw this video pop up from a guy I'm subscribed to and thought of this thread. It's a fully enclosed era-correct decal, 955L being run by a demo company in Germany, that operates a fleet of mostly vintage and older machines for demo, including some pretty old cranes.

Enjoy Teeth

Browse his channel if you have time, he uploaded a bunch of videos of equipment he filmed back in the 90's some include factory fresh Caterpillar 200-series excavators Cool
