Hello All
I have been in contact with Carmen form Conrad and yes they have put a stop on the release of the Luffing jib for the AC1000 much to my displeasure so I have decided to look at an alternative replacement and started trolling through this forum to see what people have toyed with. I found a topic that crandude07 started where he attached the luffing jib from the AC 500 on to the AC1000 with the end result being a perfect fit but not quite replicating the real AC1000 luffer.
From the info that was posted throughout this forum its clear that Conrad were going to use the AC500 jib for the AC1000 with some changes to the pennant lines which I would have been happy with but it didn’t go down to well with the majority of collectors thus the reason why the planned release was cancelled.
In my opinion and from what others have said they should have gone through with the release for 2 reasons, firstly we would have a jib for the AC1000 and secondly, collectors of the AC500 that missed out on the 500 jib would have been able to get their hands on one as their were more 500’s made than jibs back when they were released.
Trying to get your hands on a AC500 luffing jib now is near on impossible, I know because I been searching for 2 years without luck. They come and they go and if your not searching every minute of the day you miss out. In saying that, if anyones looking to sell one, please let me know as I'm still in the market for one. Any livery.
Another option worth considering is using a jib from the LTM11200. I did read that someone played with this idea but couldn’t find enough info to decide if it was worth pursuing any further or not. The ltm11200 jib would be a good choice for the AC1000 as it has the detail that the 500 jib doesn’t but once again its not true to the real jib. If the 11200 jib looked the part, worst case scenario would be that I will have to make an adaptor to connect the lattice section to the main boom out of brass or something. I think I could manage that, I made the Boom Booster for the CC8800 so it couldnt be that hard?
Has anyone else looked into other options as a replacment Jib for the AC1000? if so, I would be interested in hearing your ideas.

Shane , if that was me I would keep searching for a 500 jib. They do pop up every now and then. I've found two in the past 2 years I guess for $200ish each. I will keep my eyes open for you.
I do think it would've been good for conrad to release the "1000" jib , since there are so many other ac500s still rolling around.

i agree, the 1000 jib would have been amazing, and would have sold like crazy. i have two ac500 jibs, one on my 1000, and i would have totally still got a new one. i see one posted every now and then, usually for sale with an ac500. worth waiting for!

Cubanb343, I would appreciate that, the more eyes looking out there on my behalf the better the chance of me picking one up. I was told by Conrad there just wasn't enough pre orders made for the 1000 jib so they pulled the pin on the project. Sure is a harsh way to decide if they will do a production run or not just based on preorder numbers alone.
I've since emailed Conrad to see if they would ever consider reproducing the AC500 jibs in lue of the 1000's just to see what they say.

Harsh way yes, but it makes good business sense - Conrad stand to lose a lot by producing an accessory that may not sell well. Perhaps YCC will make one.

I had a fly jib on order from bouwmachine in Germany they have refunded my money so looks
like Conrad have given up on making one.

Its just sad that conrad decided to pull the plug on the jib & also stop production for the 500 jib. a crane isn't a crane without it's jib.  i love my crane to be on it's max configuration..

Ray... Thanks for the heads up there RayT, I will be keeping an eye on that.  I do love how these forums and the members work together in order to help one and other out. It could also be coincidence but I'm sure lot of dealers keep a keen eye on whats going on as well, I have noticed a couple of times now when members have put the word out for assistance when looking for a sort after product, within 24 hours you suddenly have a selection of them to choose from on FeePay. Cant knock that as is helps to fill the voids in peoples collections. Theres a few dealers out there that are sitting on some fine highly sort after models. Shane

May be we can write up to conrad to produce back the jib for ac500-2 as most collectors are "jib-less". A "petition" may be?

To answer your question: yes, that's normal. You can always level the pulleys by hand after you got the jib in the position you want. A few other remarks: - this topic is about the AC 1000, not the AC 500 - the hoist wire should't go over all the luffer pulleys the way you did, just over the inner ones. The real crane uses the outer ones only with an optional third winch. - all AC 500 jib sets by Conrad lack one pendant. So you can't build the full jib, you need to leave out one jib section under the pendant line - to get the luffers at the right angle. Otherwise they lean forward too much. Other than that, you're doing great
