Seeing as Tonkin Europe have started announcing their own models already, I thought that moving forward it deserved its own dedicated thread, like WSI has. Today, I have seen this announced: Quote:Coming soon: the new model of Tonkin Replicas ReelCarrier at NICOLAS
The new model of the ReelCarrier of NICOLAS is currently on its way to France! Look forward to the handmade version of the transporter made by the model manufacturer Tonkin Replicas – well-known among experts for high-quality car models. The model is as impressive as its true "big brother": Even in the scale of 1:50 and a size of 51 x 35 x 35 cm the model is relatively huge. The special edition, which is a real eye-catcher, will be available in the web shop of the TII Group in small numbers of items soon. TII Group pagePaul R

It's already available. €1499.00 or €1238.83 without MwSt.
The statement about it being hand made is interesting. I wonder if it's resin?

Yes, and only 10 available. Reel carrierNot sure that's what Santa has in mind for my gift this year.... For that price, we could replace our car's engine by a brand new one.... Still, very nice and unique piece of collection. Would have been a great piece for my dio. Whoever the lucky eventual owner, please send detailed pictures... S.

Yes it is expensive but also very big, hand-built and detailed! I also heard that only 50pcs have been made and 10 available to the collector! This item will only appreciate in value!

I just heard back from the shop, "The Nicolas ReelCarrier is mostly made of resin but it also contains several metal parts."

When I saw the thread and pics I thought "wow, that's something really different and might be worth getting" but at €1499.00 or €1238.83, no thanks!.
At 1/50 scale it will be a big model though(the one that works near me is huge) and I'm sure they will be snapped up.
Very interesting to see nonetheless.
