Anyone had a go at Corgi's Euclid TC12 Tipdozer? I bought mine a couple of weeks ago on Ebay for £6. For that I got a badly repainted dozer with rubber tracks, but underneath it's an ok model. I bought a job lot of ROS New Holland D180 dozers years ago, and use the tracks for various projects. They're not exactly realistic, but they are at least metal and hang nicely - an improvement on rubber. Just done the yellow-green paintwork and LOVE the colour (I've gone for the light yellow. Whether I'm reproducing an actual machine, I'm not sure but it's a lovely colour. For anyone interested, it's Montana Hardcore Poison Green).

I suppose I could have spent a bit more effort on this and added actual grilles and a ripper, but I want a quick turnaround!

That's come on really well. It's a nicely detailed model.

What a bargain for 6 pounds. Considering I see them going for upwards of 200 or more. Nice repaint as well.Teeth I take it the tracks are from a Joal model?

Is that paint stripper better that nitromors (if you've tried it)?

EX8000, the tracks are from a ROS D180 dozer. Martin, I bought some of that as it's a bit cheaper than Nitromors and seems to work ok, though I haven't used Nitromors for years. Looking at online reviews, it appears it's not as good as it used to be before the health and safety folk made it safer (and apparently not as effective).
I tried some Polycell Maximum Strength Paint Stripper and it was utter rubbish for models (haven't tried it on anything else), though it smells glorious! (if you like that sort of thing!)

All done, and a very enjoyable little project - I can thoroughly recommend it. Love that colour!

What a great job!!! How lucky to have run across this for a project, and I see you went for the optional CHROME stacks too. Very nicely done! DanielD

Mr. "Scotland",
You got yourself something to be very proud of!!!!!
Your details add so much to whas use to be a "sandbox toy"
I've been browsing on eBay a few times looking for that model, but never came across anything; i was wondering who built that model(toy??).
I remember having seen one at a scale models shop many years ago and not bothering about it because "it looks too much like a toy and not enough like a scale model"!!!!!d'oh! d'oh!
Congratulations, really nice work.
Max.

Cat 245.....Now and Forever

I am looking for industrial auction brochures from Ritchie Bros, Miller & Miller, Forke Bros, First Team Auction, Max Rouse, etc from the 70's, 80's and 90's.I am a collector and heavy equipment enthusiast and these pamphlets are loaded with nice pictures of cleaned and freshly painted equipment.Thet don't have much value once the sale is over but they are a great help to me in preserving the memory of machines that are no longer being built. Please, help my hobby by looking in your old storage boxes and file folders for these old auction sale brochures.Your help is much appreciated.

Nice custom work as usual Jamie, I never knew this model was or is around 1/50th scale.
