Just wondering if there are any structural or manufacturing issues with the PC8000 first run from a couple of years ago. I'd like to buy one, but am a little concerned that I've heard of booms splitting. There have been a few on German Ebay with metal parts like the bucket that are broken in half. There's one on at the mo with similar damage - a split bucket. Are they suffering from poor zinc / zinc rot? Anyone heard of anything happening to the first run?
Thanks for any info, Jamie

The first Series of the PC8000 was made by Himobo. The quality is nowhere near the fitsr Bymo (Brami) model of the Terex 340 series. The thins you describe are new to me but could happen with Himobo models. About the Zink Rot, this is something I never heard of. Even not with Himobo. The PC 8000 is a nice model but way to expensive for the quality of the model. It is a bit rougher than the Other models by NZG, TWH, Bymo etc. The main reason for the high price is the fact that the Himobo version is not made in very big quantities and the biggest part of the produced models went to Komatsu. So there are not many models available for the collectors market. The slow production process and quality issues where the main reasons that Bymo (in 2013) made the decision to quit the manufacturing of the PC 8000 by Himobo. The new production will be continued in China ( total new tooling). The first models should be ready by the end of 2014. The announced an Electric and an Diesel version. So my advice is, wait for the new models. Pictures of my PC 8000 (Himobo) model are here: http://www.bouwmachineforum.nl/forum/viewtopic.php?f=184&t=30835

As stated on the European forums, the "new" PC8000 will not arrive until November of this year.

The bucket of the new PC 8000 was already at the Toyfair 2014. The bucket on the left is the original bucket from the Himobo version the bucket on the right is the new version. The details are much better on the new version. Looks promising for the rest of the model. Link: http://forum.bauforum24.biz/forum/index.php?showtopic=60689&st=140

Do you know when it will be available? Will they make a backhoe version?

The rumors I hear also say “after the Bauma”. I am a bit curious about the materials used in the model. The latest Bauer from Bymo has a lot of plastic parts in it. If the same mistake will be made with the PC8000 then I won’t buy one. The other thing what I am curious about is the price. The Bymo O&K RH 340 was around € 250,- back then. The liebherr 9800 is around €400,- and has lesser details than the RH340.
