That "Miller Pohang" machine looks pretty crisp painted blue and white...... Nice pictures, thanks for sharing them. Anybody know where they went to work?? Max.
Cat 245.....Now and Forever I am looking for industrial auction brochures from Ritchie Bros, Miller & Miller, Forke Bros, First Team Auction, Max Rouse, etc from the 70's, 80's and 90's.I am a collector and heavy equipment enthusiast and these pamphlets are loaded with nice pictures of cleaned and freshly painted equipment.Thet don't have much value once the sale is over but they are a great help to me in preserving the memory of machines that are no longer being built. Please, help my hobby by looking in your old storage boxes and file folders for these old auction sale brochures.Your help is much appreciated.

That blue and white one looks very similar to Mount Thorely/Warkworths machine. I think a friend of mine sent me pics of it in shutdown a few yrs back.

Yes, the white and blue and yellow XPA machine was the one at Rio Tinto' Mount Thorley Warkworth operations in NSW, Australia. Unfortunately, it has been replaced by a newer shovel (4100XPC) and has been definitely shutdown two months ago.
AS for the white, blue an red machine, that's a different story. This one was the very first 5700 and worked until 2003 or so, after having been reconfigured as a """standard""" loading shovel and relocated to the Ruffner coal mine in WV, USA. This machine suffered a boom failure and I wonder if it has been fixed after that. Is there someone who knows what happened and when it has been scrapped ?
