Congratulations on your new shovels! I don't know if TWH ever corrected the problems with the hoist ropes being too short or not, so be careful lowering the bucket. I find it interesting that the sleeve notes "with rope crowd". Could we end up seeing a Hydra Crowd version in the future with the new cab and other detail differences RPFowler mentioned in another thread. Please use this before clicking "post"??? You may be surprised with what you see!

ben94f150, First, it is really good to see you posting a thread of something other than Manitowoc, glad to see you broadening your interests. For your education, see that red assembly sticking out from the back of both shovel models? That means both shovels are electric. The first shovel in Caterpillar parlance is a 7495 HD, Bucyrus International's nomenclature was 795 HR, for Hard Rock. The second shovel in both Bucyrus International and Caterpillar nomenclature is HF, for High Flotation. Randy M. Smolenack RMSmodels@aol.comrandy.m.smolenack@us.army.mil

Ben, very nice looking models, congratulations. I passed on them, but will grab the new version when it gets released. These will likely be more collectable though. Randy, the 7495 HD is a very different animal, and is actually based on the old BI and BE 495, not the newer version that have been labelled as the HR and HF versions. The 495 HR became the 7495, the 495 HF became the 7495 HF, and the 495 HD became the 7495 HD.

Our Host has them, check the bottom of the home page. They are listed there and as I write this, its says that they only have two left so don't hesitate.

Your welcome everyone mine arrived in one piece both of them because i went down to diecast models to get them. I am from Manitowoc. Didnt want the UPS man to toss them around. Alexander what shovel you get? Whats wrong with it. I wish they had functional lights like the P&H did. I wouldnt be surprised if they are reissued neither. Look at the red 18000 for example. I got the old versions. Passed on the newer 18000. All though prob looks great in all diecast. I am not just into Manitowoc cranes as i have a big interest in all kinds of heavy equipment machinery. I prob have every single heavy equipment book out their on the market as well. LOL

Nice looking scale model, but from what I see, it is a Bucyrus 495HF decorated in Caterpillar livery. The actual Cat 7495 is based on the "Super 2" Bucyrus 495 evolution released in 2010. As serie, it has visible differences like an upgrated cab and a modified carbody shape under the cab.
This was also the commercial release of the Hydracrowd system, which would have been welcome in the scale model.

I have the ordinary 7495, has lots of small things broken; stairway to the top of the boom broken off, couple of broken handrails and bent stairways, little catwalk from cab to boom broken off and one of the vents on the rear has some how come out of it's housing?

Hey Ben, Not to hijack, but thought I would add my photos of the shovel I bought. I love the shovel and also realize it is just a repaint of the 495 and is missing the new cab modifications. I picked it up when I was in Buffalo, I also did not want to ship it, so I picked it up in person. Nothing broken that I noticed on mine. Some of the handrails could have been glued in a more level manner though. My Photostream
