Great photos, thanks for sharing. There seems to be quite a few of the 6090's out there already, out of curiosity, I wonder if CAT have been turning these out quicker that O&K / Bucyrus or if they have just had more orders recently? Rowan. 1:25th scale CAT 375L excavator

I'm surprised they haven't limited the engine options to Cat only yet. They must have an overstock of the Cummins engines left to get rid of. Our Cat powered 400s run great, other than the fact they eat turbos like a fat kid eats cupcakes.

QuAD, Thanks for posting the photos! It's interesting that there was a Caterpillar news release about the 6090 that stated "the welding of the complete steel structure, including undercarriage and attachment, was executed completely in South Milwaukee for the first time." and continued with "this first South Milwaukee unit, which is destined for a customer in Indonesia.". So are there two machines going to Indonesia? Or is this the same unit that was welded together in South Milwaukee and they had to ship it back to Dortmund for final assembly and testing before delivery? Curious. Please use this before clicking "post"??? You may be surprised with what you see!

These are different machines. There are also far more than two machines going to Indonesia. They are the first two of a very large order.

There are some fantastic developments coming with these shovels with Cat way more willing than Bucyrus ever was in regards to spending R & D $$ on them. They will all get Cat engines eventually but Tier 4 developments are being worked out before re-engineering is done. The 2 smaller machines will see massive changes in the next 18 months or so and there is big developments at the top end also.
The 6090 is enjoying very good sales at the moment and the Mozambique machine is the first yellow one but the Rav North machine in the Hunter Valley is the first Cat branded.
The support these shovels will now enjoy through Cat dealers will see them go to another level and the order board for them has never been stronger.
