So im just curious has anyone ever done a YCC LTM1800-LG1550 repaint?

Rob,these models are fragile enough without trying a repaint,as Galvez said you just have to look at them the wrong way and something will break,don't get me wrong YCC models are brilliant and detail is amazing,no other model maker comes close,but personally I think the factory paint is what holds some of the parts together,if you start stripping paint it might just fall apart,these models are so exspensive to start with so why repaint,if you want to repaint try a conrad model,they are robust and easier to work with,less detail to worry about,I think some people have done it but you want to have superglue or araldite handy,I've had to use the superglue on both my 1800 and 1550 just putting together,just food for thought,beware,cheers mate.

I havent got one yet, but im tempted, the only reason i ask is i want to have one(either bit) in the Bramble's or in gray of what Universal Crane's were running. Try this one this is my profile go to favourites and it should be in there. http://www.flickr.com/photos/heavyhaul01/

i asked about the new lr 1750 and they said its ordered with a derrick,ballast wagon and luffer...
hope its true

I hope it is aswell, might stop by the lampson yard at Toronto and sarens at tuggerah aswell just an hour and a half out of my way.

I'm pretty sure fellow member Alberto has a sweet white repainted ltm1800,I forget the livery,white with red sign writing i think,then there is another under way on Alberto's home forum

Christian did a repaint of the LTM1800 into Seaforth a while back. Looked amazing! Cannot remember if he did more but I know the Seaforth one was a tough cookie.

I found this on the Hansbube forum, a guy called Erik has repainted a LTM1800 boom which looks a really good job too, I'm pretty sure the rest of the crane had been done but I couldn't find the pictures . I borrowed these pictures of the forum

Here is Christians Seaforth I was on about:  copyright Christian Schätzle He also repainted one in Grohmann livery... long before there was a custom series of that one... and he built the matching boom transporter. Paul R

Sorry lainy couldn't get any more pics of the 1750 I was hoping it wouldve been moved but it's getting more secluded where it is so yeah no luck.
Paul that seaforth unit looks amazing Christian did a great job on it for sure.
