MAN TGE 4.180K 4x2/2 double cab light truck with Schoon dropside body* (Conrad model) carrying 4.04 tonnes of Barthe bricks (WSI elements), Note*: in a foreseable future, the model should tow an ECIM PE 35 TA 350 2-axle low bed light trailer (Creatpshop kit to be built) loaded with a Wacker-Neuson 701S skid-steer compact loader (Siku model). In 1995, MAN Nutzfahrzeuge proceeded to a consumption road test between Edinburgh (Scotland) and Bari (Italy). The test involved 3 road combinations (two 463hp tractors and one 422hp unit, all towing specially-designed Kögel box semi-trailers), which will only use in average 25.8 litres per 100 kms (the continental European consumption calculation figure is in litres used to drive 100 kms, while UK is indicating driven distances for a fixed volume of fuel). That exceptionally low value (a cost-conscious driving method combined to low drag coefficient sets) contributed largely to MAN Trucks sales expansion in Europe from that date: MAN 19.422 FLS 4x2/2 tractor and Kögel Phoenixx 3-axle streamlined box semi-trailer (Conrad models, fifth wheel and king pin to be modified), One 463hp set which took part of the Eco-Challenge: Regards. Moreover, the "K"digit is not mandatory as the 6x6 truck is probably built from a bare chassis-cab unit and not from a tipping body unit, which - with Mercedes-Benz - is represented by the "K" digit (for "Kipper" in German). Therefore, modifications made above: sorry for the mistake. Regards. Guy

Love the Demag H55s. I have both models and think they're great. I need to replace the tracks with metal ones and maybe add black window seals (something I do on a lot of older diecast models!)

Another combination, dating back from my "Sahara desert" period: Berliet GBO 15 P 6x6/2 oilfield truck with 5th wheel, lifting poles and winch (modified Dinky Toys model) and Coder 2-axle oilfield flatbed semi-trailer (modified Solido model), loaded with 6 Vallourec 16" 316L gas pipe-line lengths (homemade, to be completed), The model was extensively used since my childhood: sorry for its poor overall status. As a bonus, the same truck used in the Sahara desert by the SN REPAL, the Algerian oil and gas national company. It must be noted - the man near the tandem being used as a comparison tool - that the Dinky Toys model was produced in a smaller scale than 1/50: Regards. Guy
