The "split-type" Scheuerle SPMT, developed with Mammoet, very useful for the on-site haulage, in safe conditions, of any wide or high-gravity center load: Regards. Guy

The US-import vehicle - highly appreciated in Western Europe for its robustness in the 70s - equipped here with a Meiller tipper, very common body in West-Germany at that time: To be continued. Guy

A pure product of the German trucking industry in the 90s, fitted with a half-pipe tipper made of Hardox steel, material which has since become the "norm" in Europe for that kind of body: Regards. Guy

ALE Heavylift, craneage and heavy haulage company from British origin, developed in 2010s their own heavy tow tractor, the Trojan 8870 8x8, from military Nicolas/Unipower demobilized vehicles. Six tractors have been built in total in response to their own scope of work, all now bearing a Mammoet livery, company merging with ALE in 2020. IMC recently produced the Trojan in the Mammoet livery (all sold-out when made available) and more recently an ALE version. As I plan later to use that ALE Trojan in a heavy transport combination based upon the move in Scotland in 2019 of a Tamini 145 tonnes transformer to an offshore wind farm onshore substation, I couldn't resist in presenting the Trojan solo in a sort of "avant-premiere": ALE Heavylift Trojan 8870 8x8/4 tow truck (IMC model) and Nicolas 12-line modular trailer (made from Corgi elements) Regards. Trojan is a nice model considering it is resin. Having seen them a couple of times in person, I also had to add them to my collection.
My only gripe is that the rear platform is far too long compared to the 1:1 version.
I look forward to your 2019 move!

Paul, I plan the ALE move between Invergordon Port and Loch Buidhe (near Bonar Bridge), which took place in 2019: I know that the move involved a 12-line Goldhofer THP modular trailer, but as ALE had plenty of Nicolas modules in the past, I'll use a 12-line Nicolas trailer instead, made from Corgi modules I have. I just need to build a homemade 145 tonnes Tamini transformer based on few pictures I have, which should be an interesting exercise. Cheers. Guy

The DAF tractor, fitted with smaller wheels all round and with a "low deck" 5th wheel (1.10 metres elevation only), allowing for large volume semi-trailers to be towed, without compromising the European 4 metres overall height for transport vehicles: To be continued. Guy

A more conventional combination with a reefer in its last years of use by mid-90s, as extension to 13.6 metres (approx. 45ft) of semi-trailers is being considered by the European Transport Committee: Regards. Guy
