Guy: You are right about avoiding license fees. But these are actually pretty good quality for the money. You can buy one sometimes as low as $12.00 give or take. The tank trailer is cool. And the wheels ae super. I probably have purchased three dozen of thses oveer the years. Craig

Craig, Many thanks for the info on the Citgo model: they are pretty rare (and more costly) on that side of the pond. Another Mack (fully licensed): Mack Anthem 64T 6X4/2 tractor and Trailmobile ?????45 2-axle box semi-trailer (First Gear models), Regards. Guy

Guy: The Mack Vision trucks are terrific. I used to have maybe a dozen. The quality is great. The various logos were great. I think they are 1:54 scale. As I remember, First Gear made Freightliner versions too. thanks,Craig

Craig,
Sorry to seem to contradict you but the Vision box semi-trailer could just be a 96'' wide 45' long Trailmobile trailer in a 1/50 scale (2.44 meters wide, 13.72 meters long), while First Gear also produce unknown brand 102'' (2.59m) wide 53' (15.6m) long units in the same scale. I agree with you, the Vision box trailer looks smaller than its counterpart in that case.
I hope it helps. Guy

Pascal,
Ce modèle SpecCast est intégralement du commerce, sans modification de ma part.
This SpecCast model came direct from the shop, I didn't change anything to it.

In Europe, beginning of the nineties, sleeping compartment over the cab trucks began to appear, aimed at optimizing the overall length of heavy vehicles. Late nineties, a modification in European rules related to useful boxes lengths only (cabs excluded) led to the extinction of such practices: DAF FAS95-360 Ati 6x2/4 truck fitted with a bunk-over-the-cab device and a large volume Kögel box (modified Tekno model(*)) and its matching Kögel 2-axle close-coupling large volume box trailer (Tekno model), Note (*): one of the Kögel box door (fragile) on the truck was glued in closed position. Multiple winner of the "24h du Mans" endurance car race, H. Pescarolo created his own car race team, Pescarolo Sport, which will be finally bought-out in July 2010, following some financial problems: Scania R620 4x2/2 tractor and Krone ???? 3-axle semi-trailer upgraded into a race assistance box unit by the French truck body builder Toutenkamion (?) (modified(*) Universal Hobbies models), Note (*): tractor's fifth wheel and semi-trailer's king pin were modified to accept WSI models. Link to the Wikipedia article dedicated to H. Pescarolo (in French, sorry): https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Henri_Pescarolo . Regards. Guy
