Has anyone had any issues with zinc rot with Diecast Masters models? I noticed this listing for a CAT 793D on Ebay which ended last night. If you study the photos, you can see clear metal fatigue on the chassis and steering assembly in several photos. This is most definitely bad news. Which other models might be affected? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Boxed-Diecast-CAT-793D-Mining-Truck-Item-Number-85174-Scale-1-50-/175541335816?nma=true&si=BVlDc8YNvoL7ONyXUGaAKntd03A%253D&orig_cvip=true&nordt=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557

I don't see what you're seeing.

The paint on the cross bar is kinda cracked.
Could be lack of quality control or cheaper junk paint?

See picture 8 - look just in front of the lift rams and there is a crack in the chassis. Also in this picture, the bulkhead at the back of the cab has terrible 'orange peel' effect in the paint - a sign of possible zinc rot. See picture 9 - chassis cracks and the screw is ripped out.
I admit it's not obvious, but I will say with 100% certainty that this model has zinc rot on the chassis.
