Just seen these for sale on that "other site" from China. Hopefully these are just rejected samples or they are working on improving the frame as it seems to be a weak point. Also hope Tonkin has one planned without the lift gate and air compressor as a regular utility truck or one with a standard bed. Chuck if you are reading this let us know when we can pre-order them as I will be interested in the white one for my fleet.

Are there anymore pics of it?
Looks like the headache rack on the bed is causing the bent frame.

Also the tooling looks a lot like the first gear fords if they had a single cab

It's also always interesting to see chrome mag wheels being used for commercial pick-up truck models. Real life commercial trucks usually come with steel or cast aluminium wheels as standard option, not the fancy chromed wheels as on private vehicles. Besides, I'd trash the original frame and replace with brass S

Stolen from the factory in China as usual, definitely not a releasable model. Stay tuned.

I received one of the Love's Speedco liveried trucks. It is a beautiful model with great detailing, limited functionality and a few problems. The tampo printing is brilliant and crisp and looks amazing in any road side diorama. There is a highly detailed compressor up in the work bed which is a very nice touch. The casting is original from the First Gear F-250. About the only thing that appears to have carried over is the exhaust. The functionality is limited to the hood opening. Beyond that there is no functional steering, opening doors, suspension and the tailgate/lift platform is also fixed. My model also came with a few issues. The first one that folks have pointed out is that the cab and the workbed do not sit level with each other. The issue with this is that the provided screws that connect those two pieces are too long and so the head of the screw does not sit flush. If you replace these M2 (2 mm) screws with a shorter screw then you can tighten up that connection point and fix the problem. An alternative would be to simply glue the components to the plastic frame. The other problem I had is that one of the clear plastic lens covers had significant exposure to cyanoacrylate glue and was completely frosted. The third problem was that one of the tiny work lights was broken. I have applied to the vendor for replacement parts, but they are indicating that these are not possible to provide at this time. I'll keep you posted on how I make out. Overall I would recommend this model, I think I just obtained a bit of a lemon. Sorry I don't have pics to post, I'm just a bit strapped for time at the moment. Take care and I hope you're all keeping well.

Appreciate the insight CY. Just wondering when these will be made available stateside...like I've said 1/50 is sorely missing a decent selection of trade trucks...

Yep I have some too. I rate the overall quality as poor also. I am definitaley disappointed with the solid rear window guard. I guess I am the only one that thinks this way, but I am dumbfounded as to how no one is trying to make any sort of decent work/service trucks, dually's, utility trucks etc. You see them in 1/64 and 1/87 all day, but not in 1/50...I think they would be hot ticket sellers, but I guess not...

Jason did a ladder rack and that was all, a very nice one at that. I wish there was more, these had so much potential and it was a fail.

Along with a reissue of the very fine mechanic's truck... On a side note, I have been working on getting Shapeways parts. They are mostly good albeit pricey. The biggest issue for me is the print lines. Even on "smooth detail plastic". Most parts require modding of some sort. I was able to get one of the makers to scale up his 1/64-1/87 to 1/50: PXL_20220530_154227372 by riveras2007, on Flickr PXL_20220530_154209626 by riveras2007, on Flickr PXL_20220530_154201142 by riveras2007, on Flickr PXL_20220530_154135585 by riveras2007, on Flickr PXL_20220530_154123596 by riveras2007, on Flickr I cut the bed and turned this guy into a dually: PXL_20220530_154105031 by riveras2007, on Flickr PXL_20220530_154053475 by riveras2007, on Flickr PXL_20220530_154038903 by riveras2007, on Flickr PXL_20220530_154024859 by riveras2007, on Flickr Almost done with it.
