Hi everyone my diecast masters cat 390 has been sitting in limbo for a couple years now ever since my dad knocked it off a table busting up the cab and undercarriage plus one of the tracks and so i was wondering what if i were to take the cab and undercarriage off of my core series 365 front shovel and put it on the 390? since the undercarriage in only a bit smaller and the tracks are a bit thinner but i think it could work.

Does anyone here also know the size of the pins that hold the bucket to the stick? Since I’m thinking about ordering some custom buckets for it

Approximately 2mm. May require a bit of reaming with a 2mm bit.

Thank you and do you also happen to know the length as well so that way I don’t accidentally order a bucket that’s to thin or wide? Thank you

If you're thinking of the C Irwin models connnector, and buckets.I have put them on all my big excavators.CAT 390F,Hitachi 870,Liebherr 970,they all have the original buckets with an added pin to connect it,as all tools are interchangeable, shears, hammers, buckets etc.If one hitch is too small, just get the smallest hitch, for a 20 ton 1/32 model. The biggest hitches for my biggest machines, are built for 1/32 models. The hitch on the 390f is for a Ros Hitachi 20 tonner. It will accept all the other tools, for the Joal JCB 330,fitted to other machines.

Thanks for telling me model maniac about c Irwin since they look much easier to install than the attachments I was looking at on Buffalo road imports

I can recommend C Irwin,for many things.Good,quality,metal pieces.Accept paint,nicely.Never disappointed.Want more,good excuse to justify buying more models!
