Hello guys,
A few years ago my brother and I bought a Bucyrus BE495 in Los Bronces colour (orange-blue). We only opened the package to look if it is in the correct livery. For a few weeks we take it out the box to place it in the showcase. After the model was fully unpacked I recognize a snap ring had been falling out of the upper assembly. Then I saw that the drum could not be turn by key and heard a suspicious sound. It seems to be that the drum lost contact to the mounting. Could you please tell and show me please in pictures how to open the upper assembly of the cable shovel?
Many thanks for help.
Best regards Peter

Weiss Bros has done some RC work on these models. Years ago they did some videos. This video shows the model opened up at the top. Its not a lot, but it might help a little: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wcZoTASH2Es

You'll have to remove the screw caps on the deck - use superglue disolver or just brute force! Good luck. It'll be worth the stress though. While you're at it, you might as well paint and detail the interior of the cab.

Hi Rivera2171 and Jamiescotland, Thanks for the video link of Weiss Bros. and remove caps with the help of superglue disolver. In the next days I will try to do my best to open upper assembly of the shovel without damages. Best regards Peter
