I decided to take the graphics off the side of the new Western Star and install a Tonkin Chain Closet.

That looks so much better!

Those "wing" graphics really look bad in general and I have yet to see one where the hood and door are lined up correctly.

So, how does one go about getting rid of them???

Did you change lowboys to a First Gear?

Thanks Robert and Weserhutte. First, I took the hood off, there is a screw on each side in front of the steer tires. I took the air intakes off each side from the inside by pushing on the mounting pins, carefully removed the grab handles and the exhaust (I used a popcicle stick) to gently pop them off at the mounting pins. I then used Acetone and a lot of Q-tips very lightly going over the graphics, not appling any preasure. I then applied denatured alcohol over the areas to clean off any residue. I was also told a long time ago the alcolol stops the chemical reaction on the paint, seems too, but not 100% sure if it is true. You will not get 100% of the ink off the air intake indentations, but will get enough off (and not remove any paint) so as not to see the color when reinstalled. Then I reinstalled the parts and hood. KenThink

Q, the Western Stars don't come with trailers. On that note, you would think they would sell the trailers separately. Not talking

The trailers are coming out and being sold separate from their latest product brochure

I’m hoping for a black one with Jeep and stingers.

Ken that now looks 100% better without those graphics, that is why I have not purchased one. The chain closet now makes it look like a real working rig. How do you think the Western Star would look with a Sword Rogers lowbed being pulled behind it.

Thanks Steve. I think it would look good with a 3 axle Rogers trailer. I am particular to Talberts (I pulled them and a few Trail Kings over my career). I have a few, Conrad's and 1st Gears. I have a few Rogers 4 axle trailers.

Ken I had Rogers, Fontaine and Talbert. Talbert was far and away the best trailer we had owned, but in the diecast world the Sword Rogers are #1 in my mind plus The Q said they were, so we have to take that as the gospel. Don’t we.

Showed in the newest brochure that way, just the wheels were chrome on the jeep and white on the lowboy and stinger. I sure hope they fix them to all chrome!
