Regarding the 41-B/31-B question: I think a 31-B is a perfect match as this tractor was meant to be an competitor to the D9. The undercarriage of the 31-B was developped from the one of the 41-B by removing a track roller. So when you remove all 7 track rollers of the Gescha/Conrad 41-B and replace them by 6 larger ones, you should get closer to a 31-B. Then add larger idlers and sprockets (like the size of your HD41) and you should have a good starting point. I don't know if it will work, but that's the way I'd try it.
And regarding washing, enhancing panel contrast: I know two HO scale modellers who build fantastic heavy equipment from scratch, Timo Bachhuber and Walter Altmannshofer. Both told me that they use school water colors for washing/shading. If they dont like the result, they simply remove it with a wet cloth. And if they like it, it's strong enough to remain on the model. Felipe, if you have 1/35 scale military scale modelling magazines available, just have a look what these chaps are doing.

Steve Good! It'll be nice seeing more custom stuff on here. I have 2 dozers on the bench that are well some heavy mods, I hope to have them done on a few months, this thread has kept a fire under my ass as well!

Felipe that is a very interesting model, I have never seen a compactor like that before. Could you shed some light on the actual machine and the custom.

Dex, I have always tried my hand at customs and dioramas because I was in the business as an owner for over 30 years ”site and house developments” and there is a lot missing for small items needed on a real site. The customs arose from my dioramas. After the dioramas were completed there was so much missing as far as small details and small equipment to actually create realism. So I started making my own customs to make my Dios look real, like hand compactors, chop saws, jack hammers and even went as far as 5 gallon buckets. Support equipment like portable lighting, fuel cells for pick ups and even an RD150 screen all with a deck that actually shakes a little bit. The problem now is with eye site, sausage fingers and may be even a little arthritis which makes the small items harder to make. So now I just show my wife and she tells me everything looks great even though she does not know a truck from a piece of equipment, but you do need encouragement to keep going so her approval is good enough for me. Quinella and Frusso have some pictures of my customs and dioramas, and Quinella has one or two customs he forced me to do for him, you can’t mess with him he knows people. I’m technically incapable of posting pictures on the forum that’s why none are on here.

frusso the detail seen on the hydraulic pistons is nice, is that an Arpra model.

Great pictures of some great customs Felipe! Especially the self propelled sheep's foot. Have a friend who has a 1968 "Euc' style Ts 14 in his fleet that his father bought new when he started the company. Its still going strong and is well cared for. By the way, those are the exact type of tool boxes for that era on those pick ups. some guys made them out of ply wood or if you had the money, metal. Keep the pictures coming. Mike
