Here's a dandy I came across a a few minutes ago. The back half of a Norscot 966G in "near mint" condition. Eh?

https://www.ebay.com/itm/NORSCOT-GROUP-INC-3091-RARE-NEAR-MINT/112853458162?hash=item1a46971cf2:g:GtIAAOSw8w1X-Bp~

I'll have to watch it and see if it sells.

He's had that up on there about 6 months now, it's gone down in price. It used to be $19.00.

It's a must have for serious collectors.

When I first saw it, I thought he was having a laugh, now I think the poor fella thinks its a trailer or something.

Look at his profile. He has around 1,500 items for sale. He only sold around 35 last month. Most were under $25.00. I guess it all adds up for him. Most of the items are collectibles that aren't all that popular. I hope he doesn't live off his Ebay income. CAW

It's less than that even, a yen is about 1/100th of a dollar. So if that was the intended price in yen it'd be about 10 dollars. Maybe their conversion was off, or maybe they think it's a lot more rare than it is.

Here we go again. Two knuckleheads fighting over a model worth around $100.00. What happened to the "search" feature?

Why can't I come across a couple guys like that when I'm trying to sell stuff. It seems like I always end up selling things for less than I want just to get rid of them.

I've had 2 items get a bidding war like that, where it goes beyond the value, and both times the top bidder retracted their last bid. People get into the frenzy then realize there's a Buy It Now version for a few bucks lesss and bail.

Dex: In some cases the high bidder or any other bidder cannot retract their bid. See below:

If the listing is ending in less than 12 hours, you can retract your most recent bid if it's been less than an hour since you placed it. Any other bids can't be retracted, but you can contact the seller to see if they'll agree to cancel a bid for you

So don't put up with some of these guys. If they do that, block them from further bidding. The deck is stacked against sellers these days on Ebay. My opinion. CAW

I think you're right about ebay Quinella. So where would someone sell some their models these days?

I agree, the sellers are getting a raw deal these days. However, there are a lot of bad sellers that have ruined it for the rest of us. There are just as many bad buyers though.

There was talk a few months ago about Chuck starting a new "selling" venue here. I know it's hard to do that. Who would want to have that responsibility for nothing? I would gladly pay a fee and sign some sort of release of liability to Chuck. Other than that, I have no clue. Also, Ebay is circulating a petition to sellers about the proposed new laws to get sellers to levy taxes on their sales. What a nightmare for sellers. I think that would spell the end to Ebay. CAW

I have found some decent "FBOOK" sites for collectors and have had really good luck buying from them. Prices way below EBAY! Even though I still search Ebay to see what pops up. Got my red CT680 with Rogers lowboy from a certain someone on Ebay so it don't consider it all bad!

This one might be the craziest yet. Click on the bidding history. Is there a fungus among us?
