Here is the "Gosho" the worlds largest grab dredger. The vessesl is on board a heavy lift transport ship being moved to a job location with the new 477 ton weight "Heavy Grab Bucket"..... Some specs

Capacity
106 m3 (P.L) , 76 m3 (W.L)
Weight 477 tons
height 16 m width 12.8 m (open) , 11.55 m (closed)
Depth 5.64M
Cutting force 990 tons (Lip edge)

I've seen this one before, but never tire of it! That is an awesome machine! I doubt it would ever happen, but I would buy a 1:50 version of that in a second!!

Tim, thanks a bunch for posting some new and up-close photos of this beast! I believe the one I have photos of from before is the Tosho, the first of these twins that were built. The standard bucket size is 200 cubic meters (262.5 CY), which make these 2 dredges the largest capacity single-bucket digging machines ever built!

I guess the only limiting factor for these monster hydraulic creations (in general) is the size of your imagination. Well that, and economics- but you get my point...

Nah, I'd use it for cracking Pistachios!!! That would make a great commercial for the Pistachio thing too like the one with R. Lee Ermy!!!

Wow, now that is amazing. That truly would be a sight to see in operation. Perhaps a silly question but what does it mainly dredge and what for? Channel deepening?

....anything it want too!!.....Smile Yeah Rowan, I think mainly channel work... But it can also be used for excavation for structures, outfall lines, etc. Link to the owners site....
